HotCity is Luxembourg City’s municipal Wifi Network that is currently being deployed throughout the whole city area. Nvision was appointed by the City management for the web development part of the hotcity.lu revamp project.

But first let’s give some credits to those that deserve them: IntegratedPlace for the concept and the project management as well as Beetob for the design. So our mission was to code the XHTML/CSS and to put the site into a Content Management System (CMS).

We chose Drupal as CMS for this project, mostly because of its flexibility, scalability and the Web 2.0-oriented design concept, which was rather easy to implement because of Drupal's modules and features. As the site is meant to grow in the future, in this case Drupal was a better choice than Wordpress for instance, which is definitely more blog-focused.

The site was launched on Thursday, September 25, right before the public presentation and the developer workshop organised by the City on Friday 26 and Monday 29.
